I have been taking photographs of the nude as a keen amateur photographer since my teens. Since retirement in 2005 I have concentrated more on this and I am pleased to say that all those who have appeared before my lenses have been pleased with the results. I am based in Deal, Kent. But where do I find my models? Previously I essentially found them through word of mouth and used to meet the potential model in a public place such as a coffee shop in order to show her a portfolio but we must move with the times, mustn't we? So I decided to use the internet and approach potential models from dating, sex and nudist sites. Inevitably and quite rightly in my view this approach was regarded with suspicion by some. After all it's not quite every day that you are approached by a perfect stranger asking you to take your clothes off so that he can take photos of you!
And so the idea of creating a website so that potential models could view some examples of my photography was born. For some time I only gave it out to those who had expressed interest in a photoshoot but I believe that now is the time to expand it to a wider audience.
You notice that I have used the term "her" in relation to the model but I hasten to add that I am an 'equal opportunity' photographer and am open to taking nude or erotic photos of males, females and indeed transgenders.
It might be useful if I tell you the definition of "erotic" I work to ... "relating to or tending to arouse sexual desire or excitement". Now that gives quite a wide spectrum of poses to photograph, from clothed glamour to outright porn. I believe that every woman should have some fine art erotic photos taken of her no matter what age or body shape she is. This was brought home to me by a friend of mine when she was made executor of her maiden aunt's will. She was given an envelope containing three nude photos of her aunt taken in the 1930s when she was in her 20s with instructions that they should be framed and displayed prominently in her home. They are now in her dining room gazing down on you as you eat!
It also boils down to what the models want. Clothed glamour? Boudoir? Semi nude? Fully nude? Simulated porn? Porn? Yes, all are catered for! And as for publication, including on this website. Again, it's up to the model. Indeed she/he will have the final say and can publish them elsewhere themselves although a byline would be nice!
