How to prepare and what to expect from a photoshoot

(Although these notes are aimed at female models, the same basic tenets apply to males, TGs and couples)

This will depend on what type of shoot it will be and the best preparation is to decide what type of photos you want taken in the first place. You should be brutally honest with yourself in what you want out of the shoot and how far you want to go to achieve this. Don't worry, I have heard and tackled most things in my life so don't be thinking that what you want will be embarrassing, either to yourself or to me! The next thing is to communicate this to the photographer as a successful shoot is as a result of collaboration and understanding between the two of you.

It goes without saying that for all types of photographic shoots care should be taken with your appearance but not at the expense of spoiling the 'look' we wish to achieve. For instance the 'look' for a shoot in an industrial setting would not be best served by having an elaborate hairdo, tiara and a diamond necklace (you wish!), rather a more unkempt or windswept look might be more appropriate unless we want to achieve a more discordant look. Remember Rules are only there to be ignored! This is something you should discuss with the photographer before the shoot.

For nude and erotic shoots or where there is a likelihood of some flesh to be seen, I recommend that you travel to a shoot not wearing any tight or restrictive clothing, including underwear, as marks left on the skin by e.g. bra straps take up to 2 hours to disappear. Please bring any costumes or outfits we have previously discussed or any of your favourite items of clothing, even if it's going to be a nude or erotic shoot. Often half dressed is more erotic than the full nude. However, don't overburden yourself with clothes. A rule of thumb is 3 complete clothing changes for a two hour shoot although I prefer not to be 'clock watching' and most times actually set aside a whole day for a shoot. In addition I have a selection of outfits and jewellery that can be used to supplement your own. Stockings or hold-ups and heels or kinky boots are a must!

You are welcome to bring a friend or relative with you as a chaperone. This is intended to give you an added

sense of security but sometimes the presence of a chaperone will inhibit the model and also possibly the photographer. It all boils down to how well you and the chaperone know each other and how much you trust me. Sometimes the chaperone also appears before my lens!

On arrival and especially if you have travelled far, I will greet you with a cup of tea, coffee or even a glass of wine and we can get to know each other a bit better. We should discuss what we hope to achieve from the shoot and how we're going to do it, if that hasn't been done already. Above all, I hope to create an atmosphere for us both to relax in each other's company. After all it's not every day that you expose yourself to a stranger's scrutiny, even if you're not exposing your naughty bits! I also wish to make it an enjoyable experience for both of us.

One of my guest rooms is used as a Dressing Room (or, more accurately, an Undressing Room!) and is equipped with a full length mirror and other facilities.

And then the next thing is the SHOOT itself!

PLEASE STEP IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA ..........
